Programs & Sailing Experiences
IDA MAY offers hands-on maritime programs that connect people to Oyster Bay Harbor through education, sailing, and stewardship. All programs are designed to provide meaningful access to the water while highlighting the region’s working waterfront history.
Operated by The WaterFront Center, IDA MAY programs serve students, families, community groups, and the general public.
EDUCATIONAL SAILS
Hands-on learning experiences for schools, camps, and organized groups that explore marine ecology, local history, and seamanship.
Programs may include:
Harbor ecology and local species
Oyster Bay’s maritime and shellfishing history
Basic sailing concepts and navigation
Stewardship and environmental awareness
Educational sails are age-appropriate and led by experienced educators.
